While in the office (chapter 7 – Home Matters, the book) we discovered that we can keep our hearts and mind clutter free too! The system (chapter 1) can be applied here, to live free. The Scripture verse for this week reminds us that we don’t fight with the weapons of the world (revenge, lies, betrayal). The weapons that we fight with – God’s weapons (grace, truth and wisdom) will pull down strongholds and demolish anything that sets itself up against the knowledge of God! Be mindful of what you need to “throw away” – “give away” – “put away,” from your experiences throughout the day. Read at the end of chapter 7 in Heart Matters / A Discerning heart, for some examples.

This week we tackled our closets (chapter 6 Home Matters) – instead of them tackling us! Here are a few suggestions and illustrations to give you some ideas for the “put away” step of the “system”.
If your game boxes are getting tattered you can place all of the pieces, and the name of the game in a 2 gallon zip type baggie. All of your games will easily fit into one or two bins/baskets and will take 1/3 of the shelf space.
Join us next week in the “Office” chapter 7
This week read chapter three. After applying “the system” in chapter one concentrate on making your living area comfortable, functional and satisfying!
A Discerning Heart
Keep in mind as you are de-cluttering and reducing your stress in your home, that you are also building your home. Choosing from material that has lasting benefit and is profitable makes your home strong through your wisdom and good sense.
Lord give us a discerning heart Lord…
Bedrooms chapter 5 note: in Home Matters class we are switching the living room and bedroom chapters – next week will be media chapter 4
Questions – take a few minutes to consider these questions concerning your bedroom:
At this season of your life, do you want to run to your bedroom, or run away from it; rating it high or low on the stress test?
Why do you think God has to “lead us” to a place of rest?
What is your biggest deterrent to finding a peaceful place to rest?
Here is our Scripture card for week 2 – the entrance (chapter 2). If you click on the photo you can save the picture and print to frame or save as a screen saver.
Do ONE thing in an area that you are wanting to de-clutter. Either in your entry, living room bedroom, or a high stress area you want to work on. Just ONE thing – I know “you can do it!”
